Every time I stop and think about all the options, I find myself finding a new favorite each time. And while I don’t have any boys in my future plans right now, I’ll be certain to jot down a few of my favorite southern boy names just in case I need them later on down the road.
WHAT WOULD MAKE SOME NAMES MORE COUNTRY SOUTHERN BABY BOY NAMES THAN OTHERS?
This is a great question. Because if you’re asking me, I do think that there is a difference between southern names for boys and country southern baby boy names. Call me crazy if you want, but here’s my logic and reasoning behind that thought process.
As you can see from the massive list of southern names for boys above, they’re all of the board and cover all different meanings and varieties. But when I think of country southern names, I think very specifically about famous country singers of western movie stars and their names.
I would say that Johnny and Waylon could be two of the names that made the list above that could also be considered country southern baby boy names as well.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN TIMELESS SOUTHERN BOY NAMES AND PRESTIGIOUS BABY NAMES?
Timeless southern boy names are just classic. Maybe they’ve been around for a while, perhaps even centuries and they’re just the type of name that reminds people of an area, a place or a time in history.
A lot of royal names like “William” or “Harry” are timeless because they’re names that are popular names, have been popular in the past and will be popular in the future. The popularity will literally never go away.
Prestigious baby names are a bit different because they don’t have to necessarily be about time, but can be more about a namesake or ties to a certain family. They can be more modern as well and are often known and are popular because of their first, or last, name.
