HOW ARE COWGIRL GIRL NAMES DIFFERENT THAN SOUTHERN GIRL NAMES?
In all honesty, there is quite a bit of overlap. But, I will say that there is some difference in the names and that is why I think it’s worth a deserving look. When I think of cowgirls, I can’t help but think of rodeos, rope wrangling, and barrel racing…and then when my mind goes there, I automatically start thinking about all the female country singers as well.
However, when I think of specifically southern girl names, I tend to learn more on the prim and proper of that edge of southern hospitality.
So while they can both be looked at in similar categories, I feel that they each do have their own unique aspect as well.
DO COUNTRY WESTERN GIRL NAMES TEND TO HAVE MORE NICKNAME SPINOFFS THAN OTHER NAMES?
This is a very interesting question. I think that with any name, there is always the chance for a nickname to happen. I don’t think that putting a certain type of name into a category and automatically thinking it will have a shortened version or nickname is really proven.
I will say, however, that the longer the name tends to be, or the more unique girl name that you give, there’s a good chance that it will be shortened or abbreviated to be easier to understand or say for others.
As someone who has had a unique name my whole life, there are times when I’ve felt that having a nickname that is different and more simple could have been a positive experience for everyone involved.
Have fun looking through all these country baby names for girls. I hope that you’ll find one that just might make you shout out “yee-haw”. (or something like that!)
