The definition of enlightened is “having or showing a rational, modern, and well-informed outlook.” This is the goal we have at Mommy Enlightened–to provide you with research-based information during your journey through pregnancy, babyhood, toddlerhood, and motherhood.
ABOUT THE WRITERS
Owner at Mommy Enlightened
Audrey has almost completed her Bachelor’s in psychology, and plans to attend a master’s program in child psychology. She spent seven years working with critically ill animals and their distraught owners. This taught her a lot about what works and what doesn’t when dealing with high stress situations. She then worked in a mental health treatment center for teenage girls, who suffered from a variety of mental illnesses. Here she worked closely with top counselors and social workers and learned about what it means to approach things from a positive and healthy perspective. Her most recent professional endeavor was working as an assistant case worker at an emergency shelter for children removed from their home due to violence or other trauma. Her main goal for this site is to help moms feel empowered to treat themselves as the amazing humans they are, and to help them to raise happy, healthy, and ethical kids.
Matt Morris is a career and life coach with ten years of experience operating in the service and support industry. Matt’s work as a life coach grew out of a career in operational support while working for a Fortune 500 company. He has years of experience in building trust, actively listening, and creating action plans structured to overcome forces of influence that prevent others from excelling in a high stress and fast paced environment. His professional experience has been invaluable (and sometimes woefully insufficient) in his role as a husband and, more recently, a father. His life’s focus has been on sharpening his written communications and storytelling, as he writes fantasy fiction as a hobbyist with the hope of becoming a published author. Matt’s work with Mommy Enlightened has given him a chance to broaden his horizons in technical and informational writing, and he has been thrilled to support Audrey while honing his craft.
