I wanted to make sure that my baby’s first Christmas was special.
A baby’s first Christmas ornament is an excellent keepsake—and personally one of my favorites. You may have pictures and salt dough hand prints up on the walls, but I think a first Christmas ornament is something you will tend to appreciate more.
This is not to say that you don’t appreciate your baby’s newborn pictures (because I KNOW they are adorable!) But see, Christmas only happens once a year.
Which means you probably only get out your Christmas decorations and ornaments once a year.
So every year you notice and appreciate your baby’s first Christmas ornament—almost like it’s the first time you’ve seen it.
You get to ooh and aww about how little they were, and lovingly set their ornament up in the tree with everything else. Now, I don’t know what kind of mom you are.
If you are anything like me, you probably don’t have a lot of time for DIY’ing with a new baby.
When I can, I purchase things. It makes my life easier. So, I have went ahead and listed all of my favorite keepsake ornaments you can buy.
I also listed some first baby’s Christmas ornaments (at the bottom) that you can DIY if you are a crafty mom. I’m not there yet—although I am trying (I swear!)

BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS PERSONALIZED
If you are hoping to get your littles a personalized ornament, keep in mind you need to order a few weeks in advance (at least!) if you want to get it by Christmas.
Luckily, if you don’t make it in time, your baby will never know. Go ahead and order it (even if it’s late). The important thing is that you will have it when it counts.
A personalized ceramic ornament is a perfect baby keepsake ornament. I think the marbled style background looks really classy, and I love the botanical design.

This rustic Christmas tree ornament is super cute. It’s made from pure oak, and the artist hand cuts and sands each piece (eco-friendly!) This is truly a one-of-a-kind ornament, because two will never turn out the same!
These adorable little unicorn ornaments are made of durable non-toxic clay, but they do end up with a glossy finish to protect the.

RUSTIC BEAR ORNAMENT
These adorable rustic bear ornaments are laser cut, engraved, sanded, and stained. This would be a great addition for your rustic Christmas decor. Personally, I love the 3-D looking engraved letters.
SILVER CHARM ORNAMENT
I think this silver charm ornament is super classy, and it would look great with almost any kind of Christmas tree decor.
The nice thing about that is if you decide to change up your decorating later on, you can do so without worrying about it clashing (not that I worry about it anyway–I don’t care about having a “clashing” Christmas tree!)
You can choose what charm you would like in the middle. Some options include baby feet, a pacifier, and a heart.
ELEPHANT KEEPSAKE ORNAMENT
The little banner included on this elephant keepsake ornament makes it seem playful to me. This ornament is laser engraved and cut from Birch plywood.
If elephants aren’t your thing, the seller offers other laser engraved personalized ornament options.
NON-PERSONALIZED BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS
If you don’t really care about getting something your baby’s first Christmas ornament personalized, you can go with a normal first Christmas ornament.
BABY BOTTLE ORNAMENTI feel like this baby’s first bottle is a pretty clever idea. Let me just say that I don’t believe that there is a difference between “boy” and “girl” ornaments, but you do have a choice between blue and pink bottles.
SET OF 4 PORCELAIN MINI ORNAMENTSI love all things mini (like babies!) and I almost wanted to purchase these mini ornaments because they are so cute. This set comes with a mini duck, shoes, a pram, and a rocking horse.
They are about the size of a penny–so keep in mind they may not be super visible on your Christmas tree.
BABY KEEPSAKE ORNAMENT KITThis baby keepsake ornament kit would be an excellent shower gift, or for the mom who doesn’t want to go to the trouble of purchasing all of the necessary items to make it themselves (that’s me!)
This bundle comes with 2 packs of clay (yes it’s non-toxic), 2 molding rings, and 2 paper mats to work on. For displaying your hand/footprints there are 2 easels, 4 colored satin ribbons, and a hole-punch.
MICKEY MOUSE BABY ORNAMENTIf you are a Disney fan, this Mickey Mouse baby ornament is probably right up your ally. Don’t worry, if you prefer Minnie Mouse you have that option too!
GRANDBABY’S FIRST ORNAMENT
It was a big deal when my first baby was born. I was the first to have kids in my generation, and so this grandbaby ornament would have been perfect for grandma.

This fabric and wood baby duck ornament is pretty cute.
It was one of the only ornaments I could find that was not made out of porcelain, so this is one you COULD let your baby play with in a few years.
This rattle ornament from Hallmark is classy and beautiful–which unfortunately is not really my style. This rattle is made out of porcelain, and would be a great baby’s first Christmas ornament.

To be honest, I was never a big fan of Winnie The Pooh. Regardless, I still think this Winnie The Pooh ornament is super cute. The side of the little jar says “our little hunny” and it does include the year.
BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT WITH A PHOTO
Having your baby’s first Christmas ornament personalized with a photo is a great way to still have a personalized Christmas ornament, without having to wait weeks for one to be made.

It comes ready to to hang, and is available in pink, blue, and ivory.
ALUMINUM PHOTO ORNAMENT
This aluminum photo ornament is more than meets the eye. Honestly, I thought it was a cardboard circle cutout when I first looked at it.
Turns out it is made from sturdy aluminum, and the design is permanently imprinted into the ornament with a heating process. It won’t scratch, fade, or wear off!
LASER-CUT PHOTO ORNAMENT
This laser cut photo ornament is made with alder wood, and comes with any color of ribbon you want.

PHOTO ORNAMENT BALL
I love the idea behind this photo ornament ball. It hold two different photos (one on each side) which was nice. I am considering purchasing it because I only have two kids.
Keep in mind, the cap will come either gold or silver. You DON’T get to choose (which personally seems silly to me but whatevs).
SUGAR COOKIE PHOTO ORNAMENT
This baby’s photo ornament is super cute, and has a handmade look to it (at least I think so!)
This ornament is made of plastic. I know that porcelain ornaments tend to look better, but you WON’T want breakable things hanging on a tree if you have young children or cats.
Honestly, I am not even sure why we decorate our tree because our cat is always knocking things off.
This brushed pewter ornament is another GREAT option for your child’s doting grandparents.
The downside to this product is as of this writing, it is not eligible for Amazon prime–but they do same day shipping.
PERSONALIZED PHOTO FRAME ORNAMENT
Again, I don’t feel there is a bit of difference between “boy and girl colors”, but here you have it. This adorable photo frame ornament comes in either pink or blue.

Although you probably don’t have all of the supplies sitting around, they are pretty cheap and easy to find.
BABY SOCK ORNAMENT
This baby sock ornament is one of the most unique ones I found when searching for good DIY baby’s first Christmas ornaments.

FIRST BEACH TRIP ORNAMENT
I liked this beach trip ornament because it’s not necessarily something you need to do this year–you just want to do it on your baby’s first beach trip!
