I have recently been searching for Easter basket ideas for toddlers as the holiday is getting closer.
My three year old is old enough now to have a basic understanding of holidays.
I have to think three and four are probably some of the funnest ages, as your kiddo still believes in impossible things (like human-sized bunnies that give you baskets of stuff and a fat man that travels the world in a night).
Honestly, it was always our plan to NOT do the holiday thing. For some reason it feels like I am deceiving my toddler, which makes me feel guilty.
Although we haven’t been actively encouraging the belief in things like Santa or the Easter bunny, we do let others influence her understanding of the magic surrounding holidays.
I found numerous things in my search for Easter basket ideas for toddlers, so I wanted to share them with you.
First I listed some of the best product ideas I found, but I also included some ideas from other bloggers as well.

EASTER BOOKS FOR TODDLERS
A good book is never a bad gift idea for toddlers – and Easter is no exception! I have included some of my favorite Easter-inspired books that you can grab this holiday!
LITTLE BLUE TRUCKS SPRINGTIME
We own this Little Blue Truck Springtime book (along with MOST other Blue Truck books) and it certainly does not disappoint! My toddler loves counting all of the different little “springtime” animals throughout the book.
Personally, I don’t think there is a better Little Blue Truck book than the original, but this one comes close. I definitely recommend grabbing it, as the rhyming (which is AWESOME as a pre-reading skill!) is smooth and the book is fun to read.
LLAMA LLAMA EASTER EGG
If you know anything about the Llama Llama series, you know that this Llama Llama Easter egg book is good. Despite it being a “holiday” themed book, it’s well put together and charming.
Keep in mind, the board book version is shorter than the hardcover. I definitely recommend the hardcover over the board book for kids over three.
THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT
The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a classic that you’ll definitely want in your book collection. This book tells the well-known story of naughty Peter Rabbit’s adventures in Mr. McGregor’s garden.
This is a board book, which means it’s a diluted version of the Peter Rabbit story, but it’s perfect for a small toddler. If you prefer a longer book, there is a hardcover and paperback version.
Even if you don’t get this book, anything you can get that is Peter Rabbit themed is a good Easter basket idea for toddlers.
HAPPY EASTER LITTLE CRITTER
I remember growing up reading the Little Critter books, and this Easter Little Critter version is one we are adding to our library this year.
Overall it has pretty good reviews. The book is about celebrating the Easter holiday at the little critters house, so take your toddler on that adventure.
COUNT ON THE EASTER PUPS
My toddler girl is OBSESSED with Paw Patrol right now – so this Paw Patrol Easter book is a great fit for her.
The story may be a little lacking, but it is a good story to utilize teaching your child to count. It is a little short since it’s a board book, but it makes it a great gift to add to your toddler’s Easter basket.
IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE EASTER BOOK
The If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books are probably my favorite – but this Easter edition is a little different. It is not an IF THEN book, but it does still prove to be educational.
In this story, mouse hides eggs all over the house and your toddler can engage with the book to help find the hidden eggs.
THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR EASTER COLORS
I HAD to include this version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to my Easter basket ideas for toddlers post – mostly because I love Eric Carle. Keep in mind – this book is less of a “story” and just shows colors.
It would be a great option for young toddlers.

This book is somewhat educational too – as it will help foster color learning in your toddler. Plus – it’s a board book which means it’ll fit in your child’s Easter basket easily.
IT’S NOT EASY BEING A BUNNY
It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny is a Beginner Book (a Dr. Suess thing you can read more about here), which means it’s a good learning book for your older toddler or preschool aged child.
This book tells a story about a bunny who doesn’t want to be a bunny, and tries out being different animals before figuring out he’s good just the way he is.
THE GREAT EASTER RACE
This adorable book is a hardcover Sesame Street book. It’s a story about a race that happened with all of the Sesame Street characters, and you have to find out who wins the race.
I will admit, “holiday” themed children’s books are NOT my favorite, but this one is colorful and something your toddler will enjoy (even if you don’t!)
LEARNING TOOLS FOR TODDLER EASTER BASKETS
Here are just a few gifts that are learning-inspired. Many of the other sections include educational gifts, but these are the ones that didn’t seem to fit anywhere else.
ABC FLASH CARDS
I think these ABC Flash Cards are an excellent idea for toddler Easter baskets. These flash cards come on a reclosable ring, so your little one can take them off or put them back on.
These are probably better for older toddlers that are beginning to learn the alphabet (but don’t forget it’s more important for them to learn SOUNDS than it is LETTERS).
EASTER EGG SORTING, COUNTING. & MATCHING EGGS
I really liked this set of educational (and colorful) Easter eggs. There are some cool opportunities to sort, count, and match the eggs together.
It’s difficult to explain this Easter gift idea for toddlers, but I highly recommend you click over and take a look (it seems seriously very cool!) The eggs can be halved and will only fit with the other half.
EASTER TRACE & LACE SET
Okay, so this Melissa & Doug Trace & Lace set is very cool. Melissa & Doug always come out with educational (but fun) toys and activities that I don’t see anywhere else.
This toy allows your child to identify shapes while practicing their lacing skills. It comes with five small double-sided puzzles and will help with fine motor skills, focus, attention, and hand-eye coordination.
MATCHING EGGS
This matching egg set is similar to the one above, but it usually runs a bit cheaper (sometimes by half!) This set includes actual SHAPES that fit together, instead of a little circles.
These come in a lot of fun colors and shapes, and overall people are happy with them. If you have a toddler that is working on shapes, this is the perfect Easter basket idea for your toddler.
EASTER BASKET ART SUPPLIES FOR TODDLERS
Arts and crafts make a great Easter basket idea for toddlers. Here are some of our favorites.
EGG CRAYONS
These festive egg crayons are a perfect toddler Easter basket idea. The set comes with nine crayons that are shaped to fit in the palm of your toddler’s hand.
Three of the nine crayons come in “exclusive” Easter colors that are different from a typical box of crayons.
CUDDLE & COLOR BUNNY
This cuddle and color bunny is a super cute Easter themed idea. The thing I love most about this bunny is it is washable, so your kiddo can color it, wash it, and color it again.
It comes with four colors and clothing that can be removed. I also liked the cute little patterns that are all over the bunny.
EASTER STICKERS
These Spring and Easter stickers come with over four hundred stickers. You know what’s really cool about them? They are designed to RE-STICK after being pulled off of something.
These stickers are high-quality photographic images, and contain eggs, ducks, bunnies, Easter eggs, and Easter baskets. They are a great Easter basket idea for your toddler!
FINGER PAINT
Crayola’s finger paint is MY favorite brand. This set comes with six large containers of finger paint, in the most popular colors available.
They are an easy squeeze bottle, which means there’s less likely of a chance of mess for you. They are washable, which means no stains on your child’s skin, clothing, or furniture.
TRIANGULAR CRAYONS
I have said before how much I love Melissa and Doug, and I found these triangular crayons to be super cute. There are ten vibrant colors, and the shape makes them easy for your toddler to grip with their little hands.
EASTER PLAY DOH AND STAMPS
We have a ridiculous amount of Play Doh in my house, and I think these adorable Easter stamps would be a great addition.

There are two bunnies and two chicks that both have Play Doh inside, and four different shape stamps on their feet. Definitely consider adding this to your Easter basket for your toddler.

BATHTUB EASTER BASKET IDEAS FOR TODDLERS
We love bath time in our house – so bathtub toys are ALWAYS a win. Here are some of my favorites that would make good Easter basket stuffers.
BATHTUB MARKERS, CRAYONS, & SQUIRTERS
This bathtub set is a super cute Easter basket idea for toddlers. Both the crayons and markers are non-toxic, and they WON’T stain your bathtub.
The set comes with five markers, ten crayons, and five squirters (which are little fish that can squirt water from their mouth).
STACKING CUPS
These stacking cups are the one of the highest rated educational bath toys for toddlers.
The set also comes with stickers – although they are not waterproof so I am not exactly sure what purpose they serve.
WIND UP BABY PENGUIN
Okay, so I know this wind up baby penguin has nothing to do with Easter or bunnies, but it’s such a cute bath toy (and it’s cheap!) so I wanted to include it.
We bought one for each of our toddlers for Christmas, and both the three-year-old and one-year-old love them. You wind up the penguin arms and let them go “swimming” in the tub.
FUN EASTER BASKET TOY IDEAS FOR TODDLERS
There “fun” Easter basket ideas for toddlers are centered around gifts that are purely fun – which is just (or almost as) important as educational gifts.
STUFFED BUNNY
Of course a stuffed bunny would be on the list for Easter basket ideas for toddlers. I love light brown bunnies and I thought this one was particularly cute.
It’s big enough for your kiddo to snuggle, and it’s made from super soft material.
WOODEN MARACAS
If your kiddo is into music, these egg-shaped wooden maracas are a good Easter basket idea for your toddler (plus they are advertised as being quiet!)
This set comes with 5 wooden maracas that are all painted differently. The paint is non-toxic, but that doesn’t mean it can’t peel if your littles sticks one in their mouth.
BUNNY SLIPPERS
I loved these little bunny slippers. They come in ten different colors and six different sizes that range from toddler to little kid.
These slippers are great quality, and have a waterproof bottom. This means that your littles can wear them both inside and outside without risking ruining them.
DINOSAUR CAR TOYS
Toy cars are fun and dinosaurs are fascinating to little ones (or maybe it’s just mine?) I think these dinosaur car toys are an excellent Easter basket idea for toddlers.
In this set you get four cars. We ordered some and we plan to put two in each of our toddler’s Easter baskets.
JELLY BELLY SCENTED BUBBLES
These scented bubbles include eight packs of bubbles which include an assortment of scents, including Very Cherry, Grape Jelly or Green Apple.
Bubbles are always a good idea – and scented ones will make a great Easter basket idea for toddlers.
OUTDOOR TOYS FOR TODDLERS
Around Easter is when we can finally start going outside again – so consider celebrating with a toy that can be taken outside!
GARDEN KIT FOR TODDLERS
If you enjoy gardening, your toddler probably will too! This adorable little garden kit is perfect for the spring weather. Gardening is an excellent STEM activity and this set also includes a STEM learning guide.
You could take these tools to the beach too – and they are incredibly durable for a kids toy!
SIDEWALK CHALK
This sidewalk chalk set comes with sixty-four pieces of sidewalk chalk. If normal colors aren’t your thing, they also sell tie-dye and neon colors too. Tell me you don’t need a little sidewalk chalk in your life? 🙂
We love sidewalk chalk at my house, and are always buying more since we misplace and break it. Often.
BICYCLE
I know that a bicycle like this one may seem a little overboard – and maybe you’re right. Regardless, we purchased our daughter one for Easter last year and do NOT regret it.
I feel like Easter is a great time to buy something for outside, to celebrate the weather finally warming up.
WRAPPING UP EASTER BASKET IDEAS FOR TODDLERS
In reality, your toddler will appreciate ANYTHING you give them. Be sure not to go too big with this holiday, as you don’t want this to become an expectation for the future.
I would love to hear from you! Comment below and tell me what you included in your toddler’s Easter basket?
